Frequently Asked Questions

Is this a non-profit organization?

Yes, we are a bona fide 501c3 nonprofit filed with the IRS and the state of Georgia.

What is the mission of Crown Magnolia Court?

Our mission is to educate and advocate for the LGBTQIA+ community and its allies in Georgia. The Court promotes social tolerance through drag performance art. The CMCGA works to eliminate the historical oppression and homophobia of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, inter-sexed, and asexual individuals in the South. This is done by creating a safe and welcoming environment through the presentation of events that explore alternate forms of gender expression in a fun, safe, and educational manner. With this in mind, we fundraise for our chosen charities.

What is a drag court?

The court system is organized around a royal hierarchy with Emperors and Empresses, Princes and Princesses, and other titles of nobility. The top-tiered positions are elected yearly by the general membership, and other titles are appointed by the newly elected Emperor and Empress. As an appointed title holder, you are entitled to wear a crown, become the face of the CMCGA, and organize fundraising opportunities to patronize local charities.

Which charities do you support?

Each year, the reigning monarchs select the charities we patronize. Our treasury is a matter of public record. All inquiries should be directed to: kitty@cmcga.org

What kind of fundraising?

Most of our fundraising efforts are centered around drag performance art at community events. This is the primary source of income for our organization. Since we are a non-profit organization, all proceeds go to our chosen charities as well as the maintenance and general operations of our organization.
